A screen light storytelling kit for kids 3 to 10

Tonight the author is four years old.

Every other storytime, your child is the audience. With TaleTiles they build the story out of wooden tiles, you scan the board, and their adventure plays out loud, starring them by name.

Tap for sound

Build it, scan it, hear it. One story, starring your child by name.

See how it works

A tray of wooden tiles becomes their bedtime story.

Your child lays out the tiles, you scan the board once, and the adventure plays out loud with music, sound, and their own name as the hero. Try it below: type a name and watch the story change.

"...and then Josie lifted the lantern, and the whole cave lit up gold."

Every story stars your child by name, in a world they chose tile by tile.

From consumers of stories to creators of stories.

How a story gets written

Three chapters, every time.

Hands on wood, ears on story, eyes off glass. The phone is your tool for one scan, never your child's screen.

Small hands laying wooden story tiles on the tray
Chapter one

They build it

Your child lays out wooden tiles on the tray, choosing the characters, places, and objects their story is made of.

Scanning the finished tray with the TaleTiles app
Chapter two

You scan it

Open the app, scan the finished tray, set the phone down. That is the whole of the screen.

Chapter three

Everyone listens

Their adventure plays with music and sound, and the author hears their own name as the hero.

What the beta parents are saying.

★★★★★

"With four kids, bedtime is usually chaos. This is the first thing that gets all of them to settle, and it has spilled into calmer mornings too."

"It is the only screen thing I do not feel guilty about. They are building with their hands, and the phone just plays it back."

A AlexisMom of 2 · Dallas, TX
★★★★★

"Hearing his own name as the hero, his whole face changed. That was the moment I finally got what this was."

R RyanDad of 2 · Whitefish, MT
★★★★★

"The first night, my daughter asked to build another one before the first story even finished. She has never done that with a book."

A AshleyMom of 2 · Los Angeles, CA
★★★★★

"My two usually fight over everything, but they take turns picking tiles without me asking, then sit together to listen. That almost never happens."

M MeghanMom of 2 · Columbia, MO
★★★★★

"Bedtime used to be a battle over the tablet. Now he builds his story, we set the phone down, and he is actually calm. I did not expect that."

Good to know

A few quick answers.

Do I need a certain kind of phone?

No. TaleTiles now works on both iPhone and Android. You only use your phone to scan the finished tray; your child never touches the screen.

Does my child use a screen?

No. Your child builds with wooden tiles and listens. The only screen moment is you scanning the tray with your phone.

What ages is it for?

TaleTiles is designed for kids roughly 3 to 10. The stories grow in richness as your child does.

Do I need Wi-Fi?

You need Wi-Fi to generate a new story. Once a story is saved it plays back offline, anytime.

Does the beta cost anything?

No. Beta kits ship free to Founding Families. This wave is full, but you can join the waitlist for the next batch.
